Dave Grohl's fans rush to defend him after Taylor Swift jab as they're convinced they know why he did it

Dave Grohl seemingly had some fighting words about Taylor Swift .

On June 22, Dave and his band Foo Fighters had a concert at London Stadium, which coincide with night two of the Taylor Swift's The Eras Tour at Wembley Stadium. During one of his performances, the frontman made a jab at the pop star and started by saying: "I tell you, man, you don’t want to suffer the wrath of Taylor Swift."

"So we like to call our tour the Errors Tour. We’ve had more than a few eras, and more than a few f--king errors as well. Just a couple,” Dave continued.

Then the 55-year-old made a comment that insinuated that Taylor doesn't perform live, saying, "That’s because we actually play live. What? Just saying. You guys like raw, live rock ‘n’ roll music, right? You came to the right f--king place."

The video of that moment went viral and the implication caused much ire amongst Swifties who felt Dave disrespected the Cruel Summer singer but also said something untrue. On night three of Taylor's London shows, she appeared to have responded to the job by taking the moment to thank her band and crew for their live performances.

“Every one of my band members, every single one of our crew, my band who’s gonna be playing live for you for 3.5 hours tonight, they deserve this so much,” she said. "And so does every one of my fellow performers. And you just gave that to us so generously, we will never forget it.”

Dave's fans on the other hand took to social media to defend the singer from the heat of the Swifties. Some have stated Dave has praised Swift in the past, others said he was talking about Taylor's use of backing tracks. Many fans have even suggested that the reason was for his 18-year old daughter who was cyber-bullied by Swifties for criticizing Taylor for flying private in a now deleted X formerly Twitter post. His daughter made a tweet stating "Why can't Taylor Swift just drive like everyone else."

One fan wrote on X with their explanation for Dave: "Wow I wonder what prompted Dave Grohl to take a little swipe at Taylor Swift? I’m sure it’s totally unprovoked & not at all to do with his 17-year-old daughter being relentlessly trolled & sent death threats from Swifties because of this totally innocuous tweet back in January."

Another fan wrote: "Does anyone remember when Swifties sent Dave Grohl’s 17 year old daughter death threats for criticizing Taylor’s private jet usage? Have you considered that she also uses a myriad of backing tracks live, whereas Foo Fighters does not, which is absolutely what he’s referring to?"
