As reported by Billboard , stats and figures according to Luminate state the song drew 50.9 million official streams (up 1%), marking Carpenter’s best career streaming week for a song. Plus, 3.2 million radio airplay audience impressions (up 502%) and sold 7,000 (down 10%) in the United States in the June 14-20 tracking week.

To celebrate the achievement, Sabrina took to social to share her excitement, plus subtly troll a hater, and once again win the internet with her charm and wit.

“MY FIRST #1 on the @billboard HOT 100!!!!!!! And espresso at #4..,” Carpenter began her caption of a series of images and videos. “Very immensely grateful so i will surely always remember this day for the rest of my life!” The first slide showed Billboard's usual social graphic for the Billboard Top 10, of which Sabrina has claimed two spots.

Correlating to slide 2, a video of studio session clapping, Carpenter continued, “@jackantonoff @amyallen i deeply love this song and i love you both!!!!! I love our pitchy claps!!!!! I love @sharp_stick !!!!” To conclude, Sabrina wrote, “good things come in three’s 🥲thank you everyone who’s listened and made it so much fun to have these songs out in the world. more to come soon 💋💋”

For the third and final slide, Sabrina out-trolled a troll by sharing a screenshot of a comment made by X user @chaserojo that read — “i dont think ive ever seen someone fumble a second single this hard. my goodness,” in response to her initial “Please Please Please” release announcement.

After what we can only guess was two weeks of hellacious DMs, that resulted in his Twitter account deletion, chaserojo took to Sabrina’s IG post comments section to reply,  “congrats diva! made me eat my words!”
