A LOYAL Amazon customer has decided to sever ties with the e-commerce giant.

They canceled their Amazon Prime membership of 10 years after receiving both delayed and poor customer service.

The Amazon customer described the situation that led them to cancel their Prime membership on X.

"We just canceled our Prime membership that we've had over ten years," began the user.

"30-day hold on our returned item funds and customer service could not have cared less."

In ditching Prime, the customer shared they would be switching to Walmart - one of Amazon's biggest competitors.

They noted that Walmart+ similarly offered free delivery and that it would be cheaper with a selection of good brands.

"Amazon are you listening yet?" they asked.

    WALMART WOES

Walmart+ has faced its fair share of backlash online as well, including one shopper who dropped the service because one of its features was ineffective.

The Scan & Go feature permits shoppers to scan their items as they shop and then scan a QR code at self-checkout.

Walmart+ users can then pay and exit the store without having to arduously scan and pack their items at the registers.

However, one paying member called it quits after encountering two obstacles with using the Scan & Go feature.

“Cancelled my @Walmart+ today,” began the X user.

“It was enough garbage that the self-checkouts weren’t open most of the time in the first place but when the self-checkout monitor had to rescan my items, that was it.”

The user decided to revert to traditional checkout instead of paying for a feature that didn't work.

“If they have to scan everything, I might as well just go through the line,” she said.

    Amazon Prime versus Walmart+

    Amazon Prime:

    • $14.99 per month or $139 per year
    • Free one-day shipping, two-day shipping, and same-day delivery on select items
    • Early access to Lightning Deals
    • Free Grubhub+
    • Free Prime Video, Prime Music, Prime Gaming, and Prime Reading

    Walmart Plus:

A second Walmart+ subscriber ended up regretting her membership quickly after reinstating it.

She explained on X how she had canceled her membership but reinstated it after her daughter was sick.

She needed supplies delivered quickly and placed an order.

However, she regretted her decision after seeing how the employees had packaged her items.

They mixed raw meat with baby food, leaving the mother disappointed in the paid service.

In related news, a Walmart+ member fumed after being forced to queue for 40 minutes for one item.

Plus, Amazon confirmed it’s expanding its $5 monthly service to 50 million more Americans offering up to 80% off purchases.
