Kendrick Lamar's "Not Like Us" could be a contender for the 2025 Grammys.

TMZ ran into the Recording Academy's President & CEO Harvey Mason Jr. at Los Angeles International Airport on Monday, June 24, and asked him about his thoughts on the possibility of K. Dot's popular diss track toward Drake being nominated for a Grammy. Mason couldn't deny the star power that has propelled Kendrick's song to the top of the charts. He mentioned that "anything is possible," but it all comes down to the Academy's voters and how they view the quality of the record.

"I don't see any reason why it couldn't be [nominated]," he said. "It's all about the quality of the record. It's really about the members — if the members like it, then it'll be nominated."

Kendrick Lamar has seen plenty of success since he dropped "Not Like Us" in May. The Mustard-produced diss track debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and shattered records on various streaming platforms. It was the first time Lamar had a solo record debut at No. 1, and in record time too. It was also Mustard's first No. 1 single and debut on the Hot 100 chart.

"Not Like Us" gained even more popularity after his beef with Drake died down . Kendrick performed the song live for the first time "The Pop Out" show in Los Angeles on Juneteenth and ran it back five times. A few days later, he shot the official music video at several locations in Compton, which attracted numerous L.A. artists and a mob of fans.

If Kendrick's song receives a nomination, it wouldn't be the first time. Drake's diss track aimed at Meek Mill "Back to Back" also earned a nomination for Best Rap Performance in 2016. LL COOL J's "Mama Said Knock You Out," which is a Kool Moe Dee diss, was also nominated for Best Rap Solo Performance in 1992.
