AUSTIN - The Texas Education Agency (TEA) renames the Supplemental Special Education Services (SSES) program to the Parent-Directed Special Education Services (PDSES) program in order to highlight the importance of parents in the educational process.

The new name does not change any of the criteria for eligibility. The PDSES program offers a one-time $1,500 online grant for parents or guardians of students who receive special education services and are enrolled in a Texas public school.

The application for the 2024-2025 school year will open on February 3, 2025.
