    15th annual Salute From the Shore flyover planned for July 4 over South Carolina coast

    NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — The skies over coastal South Carolina will give way on July 4 to a military flyover that’s been watched by hundreds of thousands since its inception 15 years ago.

    The show kicks off at 11 a.m. from Murrells Inlet with civilian-owned and flown vintage T-34s, T-6s and T-28s, ending at Folly Beach toward the south. At 1 p.m., F-16s from McEntire Joint National Guard Base and a C-17 from Charleston Air Force Base will make their way down the coastline, beginning at Cherry Grove and ending in Beaufort.

    Older planes are flown by volunteer pilots, and weather conditions could affect their ability to participate.
