HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — The annual Red, White and Lights Independence Day celebration will return to Henrico County on July 4.

The event will be hosted at Meadow Farm Museum at Crump Park, located at 3400 Mountain Road, and will begin at 5 p.m.

Attendees will be able to enjoy a performance by the Henrico Police Acoustic Blues Band, as well as a performance of “The Star-Spangled Banner” by Sarah Walston and “Lift Every Voice and Sing” by Desiree Roots.

According to a county spokesperson, the Richmond Symphony with artist J. Roddy Walston will perform patriotic selections at 8 p.m. under The Big Tent.

Starting at about 9 p.m., the Richmond Symphony’s performance will be accompanied by a laser-light show. The show is suited to those who may be sensitive to loud noises and will not include a fireworks display.

A kid’s zone will also be available, which will include inflatables, games, a mobile gym, face painting, balloon art, a community art project and entertainment by a juggler and a performer on stilts.

To add to the festivities, sixteen food trucks will be at the event with meals, snacks or desserts.

Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and chairs for comfortable seating.
