Although Streep has yet to address the split directly, her rep told us at the time that she and Gummer “will always care for each other” but “have chosen lives apart.”
Streep gave birth to her baby boy in November 1979.
While Henry appeared to be following in his mom’s acting footsteps when he enrolled in New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, he dropped out after two years.
Instead, Henry has pursued a music and had songs featured in the soundtracks to two of his mom’s movies, “Ricki and the Flash” and “Julie & Julia.”
Henry called Streep’s fame a hindrance to his success in a New York Daily News interview ( via People ), explaining, “The fact that my mom is who she is can be overshadowing. … I wish I had something that could eclipse that.”
As for his love life, he has been married to Tamryn Gummer since 2019.
The duo have given Streep and Don two grandchildren: daughter Ida and son Quinn, born in 2020 and 2022, respectively.
Mary Willa “Mamie” Gummer
In August 1983, Henry became a big brother when Mamie joined the family.
Streep’s second child is an actress, and the mother-daughter pair co-starred in “Ricki and the Flash” in 2015.
They also shared the screen for Mamie’s first role in “Heartburn” as a toddler, and she has gone on to appear in “The Good Wife,” “True Detective” and more shows.
Mamie was married to actor Ben Walker from 2011 to 2013, and she went on to wed writer Mehar Sethi in 2019.
Mamie and Sethi made a rare red carpet appearance as a family in April 2024 and seemingly confirmed that they also share a daughter.
Grace Jane Gummer
Streep and Don welcomed baby No. 3, daughter Grace, in May 1986.
The Vassar College grad, who has degrees in art history and Italian, has dabbled in acting over the years with small roles in “American Horror Story” and other projects.
In July 2019, Grace and musician Tay Strathairn walked down the aisle — only to separate the following month and divorce in 2020 .
Louisa completed Streep and Don’s family in June 1991.
Like Grace, she graduated from Vassar College, where she studied psychology before going on to get a fine arts master’s degree in acting from the David Geffen School of Drama at Yale University.
The actress, who also attended the British American Drama Academy, has starred in “The Gilded Age” since 2022.
