From her first marriage to the late John Cassavetes, Gena Rowlands has three kids .

Gena and John were parents to Nick, Alexandra, and Zoe.

The former couple was married from April 9, 1954, to February 3, 1989.

On the latter date, 59-year-old John died from cirrhosis of the liver.

On May 21, 1959, Gena and John welcomed their first child, Nick Cassavetes.

Like his parents, Nick also works in film.

He has directed John Q, Alpha Dog, and My Sister’s Keeper.

Many times during his career, he collaborated with his parents.

Nick directed Gena in The Notebook and Unhook the Stars.

He also directed her in She’s So Lovely, which was written by John.

Nick has three children: daughters Sasha, Barbarella, and Virginia.

She has two children: a daughter, Veronica, and a son, John.
