Slow no-wake zone rules in effect for Houston County waterways

HOUSTON COUNTY, Minn. (WKBT) -- Slow No-Wake Zone restrictions are now in effect for waterways in Houston County.

That's according to a Facebook post from the Houston County Sheriff's Office, who said the Houston County Board has approved the temporary emergency restriction.

Those restrictions apply to waterways within Houston County and include the Mississippi and Root Rivers.

The resolution lasts up to 30 days or if water recedes below certain levels for at least three days:

Under 10 feet for Pool 8 (Dresbach dam to Genoa dam)
Under 12 feet for Pool 9 (Genoa dam to Iowa border)
