Billy Ray Cyrus Claims Estranged Wife Firerose Was Physically Abusive

More allegations coming to light. It's already been messy since Billy Ray Cyrus filed for divorce from his wife, Australian singer Firerose, last month. The couple were married back in October, with the 62-year old Cyrus announcing his marriage to the 36-year old Firerose on Instagram after a surprise wedding ceremony. It didn't last long though, with the couple’s official date of separation listed as May 22, 2024, and Cyrus gave his soon-to-be ex-wife a deadline of May 24th to leave their home while giving her a $500-a-night stipend over ten days for temporary housing. The country music singer cited “inappropriate marital conduct” and “irreconcilable differences” in his divorce filing, and an alleged credit card spending spree didn’t help the rocky marriage either… But in her response, Firerose claims Cyrus wanted out of the marriage one day after he discovered that she was planning on getting a double mastectomy, and accused the "Achy Breaky Heart" singer of "extreme verbal, emotional, and psychological abuse." She also claimed that she was "subjected to Husband’s persistent drug use accompanied with the consumption of marijuana which made Husband unpredictable and volatile towards Wife.” The response says that Cyrus would call Firerose a "selfish f**king b*tch," and that she postponed her surgery because she had nowhere to live and was relying on her then-husband's health insurance to pay for it. But Cyrus disputed the allegations, providing notes and text messages to Page Six that he claims were sent to him by Firerose after he filed for divorce begging him to come back. Like I said, messy. Well Billy Ray is making new allegations in his latest court filing, not only disputing claims of abuse from Firerose but also alleging that HE was actually the one who was abused. In documents filed yesterday, as reported by People , Cyrus not only claims that his estranged wife was not only verbally and emotionally abusive, but was physically abusive as well: "While the Plaintiff would acknowledge that he was certainly vocal, frustrated and angry with the Defendant in May 2024, it is the plaintiff who, in fact, has been abused. Not only verbally and emotionally by the Defendant, but PHYSICALLY abused by Defendant." Cyrus calls the allegations that he was abusive "mind-boggling," and also included an affidavit from his manager Scott Adkins, who claims that he witnessed the abuse towards Billy Ray. He also claims that Firerose threatened to end his career by telling him that she would go public with claims that he was divorcing her over her plans for the double mastectomy. People cites sources close to Firerose who dismiss the allegations made by Billy Ray, saying that only people who are backing him up are "on his payroll, whose credibility is questionable." What a mess...all over a marriage that only lasted seven months.
