Bold and Beautiful fans side with Ridge after calling Thomas’ engagement a 'major red flag'

The Bold and the Beautiful fans believe that Ridge had the "correct reaction" to Thomas and Paris' rushed engagement as they call the move a "major red flag."

During Tuesday afternoon's episode, Paris made the shock announcement to Steffy and Ridge that she and Thomas were engaged showing off her massive sparkling ring. And while Steffy was overjoyed by the unexpected news , Ridge was less-than-thrilled with the major step after just a few short months of dating. Ridge is currently married to Hope's mother Brooke who Thomas previously shared a turbulent on-and-off relationship with before relocating to France.

Thomas fled the country with his son Douglas while he was heartbroken over his on-and-off girlfriend Hope. Before leaving, Thomas asked Hope to marry him twice to which she shot down both times claiming that she wasn't ready for marriage. And now that Thomas is back and ready to take the leap with Paris, Ridge seemed very reluctant of the idea - a sentiment that many fans share.

While Ridge didn't openly express his disapproval, his feelings were written all over his face as he shared a very unenthusiastic response to the news. After Paris dropped the news, Ridge questioned the seriousness of their relationship adding that when he visited Thomas in France he didn't even mention they were dating. Paris explained that Thomas withheld the news from Ridge because he didn't want him to think he was moving on too fast from his step daughter Hope.

And has Ridge shared a strained reaction, Bold and Beautiful fans took to X, formerly Twitter, agreeing with his response. One viewer wrote: "Ridge is having the correct reaction - I get that Steffy hates Hope but come on - moving on this fast is a major red flag." And someone else added: "I hope Ridge knocks some sense into Thomas." While another joked: "Ridge looks like he wants to throw up."

And while Ridge was processing the news, Hope was having her own breakdown about Thomas moving on. After Douglas sprung the news on her, Paris gave Hope and Thomas a chance to talk over the news on their own. As soon as Paris left, Hope broke down in tears over Thomas moving on and begged him to give their love another chance. Thomas reminded Hope that she was the reason that they weren't getting married and that he was happy with Paris and the fact he found someone that was ready to commit to him.
