Woman's Mid-Century Modern Table Restoration Paid Her Rent This Month

If it feels like the wave of folks buying up old wood pieces to cover them in paint is starting to die down, it's likely because of people like this TikToker, who are going out of their way to show all of us just how amazing a fully restored table can look when it gets brought back to its former glory.
And not only can a little TLC and some serious woodworking skill help make what is old new again, but it can also help you net some serious cash, according to one woman, who paid her rent by fixing up and selling a free table she found on Facebook Marketplace.
Okay, we're completely rethinking our whole understanding of personal finance.
Thanks to @flipped.by.faith , we now know that you can make hundreds (if not thousands) of dollars by fixing up a an old table and selling it online. It sounds like the OP really undersold herself on this one, since she says that people snagged the piece as soon as she listed it at $800.
Note to self, move wherever the OP can pay rent with just $800!
But, that's not all we learned, we also discovered that the Marketplace may be a great place to go if we're looking for some fixer upper projects to transform our home on the cheap!
This isn't the only great restoration project we've seen recently either. In fact, one woman recently fixed up a hutch that looks like it belongs right next to this MCM table. Actually, we kind of hope she's the one that grabbed this piece at such a great price!
Woman Restores MCM Hutch Instead of Flipping It
We've got to give it to these ladies for putting so much time and energy into restoring these old classics back to their former glory, like this woman who revived a dated and damaged MCM hutch that had seen better days.
Now it looks nice enough that it could very easily be paired up with the OP's updated dining room table (seriously, is there any chance these two pieces are now living happily ever after somewhere)!
Not that we're knocking the work anyone else is doing on their DIY projects. Even painting something old and dated to try and give it a facelift take a lot of work and creativity, and we've seen a few really well done versions of those looks, too.
It's just nice to see some of these old pieces getting a second chance at life via restoration instead of reinvention.
