    Harris Co. High School shotgun team makes their mark at state shoot, three advance to nationals

    The Harris County High School Shotgun team has secured podium finishes in multiple disciplines at the state shoot, making their mark once again in the competition down in Savannah, Georgia.

    During a three-day event, the shotgun team competed against 527 shooters and showcased skill and determination in Skeet, Trap, Sporting, Clays, and Super Sporting.

    Here is a list of where students placed and the school’s ranking in each competition:

    Trap

    • 3rd place IA squad hitting 446/500 targets – Garret Baker, Trip Reeves, Dylan Gibson, Owen Dean and Caleb Patterson.
    • 3rd place IA individual – Garrett Baker who hit 94/100 targets
    • 4th place IE squad: Cameron Posey, Talon Powers, CJ Posey, Cameron Reynolds, and Luke Moss

    Harris County High School Scores:

    Men: Colin Hartung with 95/100 targets

    Women: Tinsley Rigsby with 94/100 targets

    Sporting Clays

    • 3rd place IA squad hitting 252/300 targets – Garrett Baker, Will Watts and Rylan Culpepper
    • 4th place IE squad hitting 224/300 targets- Rhett Cale, Talon Powers and Cameron Posey

    Harris County High Scores:

    Men: Garrett Baker with 87/100 targets

    Women: Tinsley Rigsby with 79/100 targets

    Skeet

    • Harris County High School ranked 6th out of 87 schools

    Harris County High Scores:

    Men: Caleb Harmon with 94/100 targets

    Women: Alli Gray Everson with 94/100 targets

    Super Sporting :

    • 4th place IA squad – Caleb Patterson, Garrett Baker and Parker Pulley

    Harris County High Scores:

    Men: Trey Wyche with 43/50 targets

    Women: Tinsley Rigsby with 28/50 targets

    The Harris County High Shotgun team Head Coach Angie Everson shared with WRBL how preparing all season long was worth it.

    Our Harris County High School shotgun student-athletes have had a great season. I am certainly proud of the way they represented at each competition and the long hours put in prepping for it.
