Jordyn is a breakout series regular in the Onyx Collective comedy series “Unprisoned”, opposite Emmy Winner Kerry Washington.

Jordyn portrays seven-year-old “Little Paige”, who is the personification of adult Paige’s Inner Child. She is the part of Paige that is untouched by all that has happened in her life, including losing her mother, foster care, and having a father in prison.

Jordyn McIntosh has an impressive resume. She has appeared in ABC's Emmy Award-Winning show "Abbott Elementary". Who received mainstream success, having recently won a series of acclaimed awards. Jordyn also starred in Emancipation alongside Will Smith. In this film, she plays “Laurette”, daughter of Will Smith’s character who portrays a runaway slave as he embarks on a 10-day journey to escape his captors.

I had the opportunity to talk with Jordyn about the key to pushing forward when trying to overcome setbacks, navigating through pressure in the Entertainment Industry, and season 2 of Hulu’s Unprisoned. You are invited to watch the video here.

Veronica Charnell: The moment that they told you were granted another season, and of course it was going to bring you on again. How did you feel at that moment?

Jordyn McIntosh: “I was like, it's a family reunion, and I was so excited, I was like, yes, I get to see Ms. Kerry, I get to see Mr. Delroy and Folly and everybody else, I'm so excited.”

Veronica Charnell: For season two of Unprisoned, are we going to have any romance or suspense? Are there going to be any twists or turns coming up that we have to look out for?

Jordyn McIntosh: “Yes, you might get maybe some twists and turns and yes, there is some back-and-forth romance. This season is full of surprises.”

Veronica Charnell: You have worked alongside Hollywood finest, like Viola Davis and Will Smith. Have you ever felt any pressure working with them? How do you feel working with someone like that level?

Jordyn McIntosh: “Well, pressure, yes and no, because the no part, I mean, it's like, I'm about to act. So all I have to do is be at their level or at least be around their level and things will run smoothly. But kind of yes, because I guess I could say I'm a pro, but like around the beginner area. And here I am standing in front of these huge experts like oh my goodness.

Veronica Charnell: Did your Father do any coaching sessions with you?

Jordyn McIntosh: Not really. It’s like you have fun dad, like, yeah, we're about to go out to the mall and then you got coach dad, the director dad. So when we're in the audition room, he's always like, all right, so I need you to do this.”

Veronica Charnell: How do you prepare for your auditions?

Jordyn McIntosh: “So how I prepare is usually, of course, I read my lines and I practice them. Then we'll have a few sessions where me and my dad have small rehearsal sessions together. I'm looking at the script to make sure I have my lines down pack. Then he'll quiz me and he'll take away my scripts to see if I have it memorized.”

Unprisoned Season 2 premieres July 17th
