    Incumbent loses in Georgetown Co. Democratic primary runoff election

    GEORGETOWN COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – Voters in Georgetown County have elected a new leader to represent District 3 in the Democratic primary race for county council.

    Rev. Ernie L. Cooper Sr. garnered 53% of the vote to beat out incumbent Everette Carolina Sr., who took 46% of the votes.

    Cooper will face Republican nominee Craig Cumbie in the Nov. 5 general election.
