MIAMI, OK — With the NBA Draft one day away, former NEO Golden Norsemen Forward Jonathan Mogbo has turned himself into a rising prospect with his eyes set on the NBA with the hopes of hearing his named called by a team.

Mogbo played for the Golden Norsemen back in 2021-22. He spent one season with NEO before transferring to Missouri State.

During his time in Miami, he averaged 14.3 points per game.

After spending one season at Missouri State, Mogbo entered the transfer portal and found a new home with the San Francisco Dons where he burst onto the scene.

He was the West Coast Conference Newcomer of the Year averaging 14 points and 10 rebounds per game. He was one of 16 players across Division I to average a double-double.

With a 7’2 wingspan and a 9′ standing reach, Mogbo has elevated his standing with NBA teams.

He is currently #40 on the ESPN Top-100 Draft Board where the Mock Drafts have him as a labeled as a late First Round, early Second Round Pick.

We caught up with NEO Head Coach Jeremy Jackson who explained how proud he is of Mogbo and why he knew he had a chance to be special.

NEO Head Coach Jeremy Jackson said, “Honestly, it’s just showing how hard he worked and that the hard work is paying off. It’s like a proud parent almost. You know, you’re happy for him to just see the labors that he’s put in be fruitful and him to be able to capitalize on it. And, him going to Missouri State was a great thing. He did great things there and then goes to San Francisco and really takes that next step. He’s 6’7 and his long arms like go go gadget arms type of thing. And his athleticism just kind of really set him apart versus a lot of other other players that we had here”.

The NBA Draft starts on Wednesday (June 26) with Round 1 and will run through Thursday (June 27) when Round 2 will take place.
