    WLAM Foundation announces 2024 scholarship award recipients

    The Women Lawyers Association of Michigan Foundation has announced the recipients of the 2024 WLAM Foundation Awards for Outstanding Law Students.

    Thanks to funding from law firm and corporate partners, the WLAMF awarded more than $45,000 to 13 students attending Michigan’s law schools.

    Each student was awarded a $3,500 scholarship based on their impressive academic performance. These individuals strive to advance women’s roles in essential areas of the law, including STEM, social justice, equality, child advocacy and domestic violence.

    Scholarship recipients for 2024's Outstanding Law Students are:

    Kristen L. Pursley, past president of the WLAMF and managing partner of The Dobrusin Law Firm, shared her excitement for this year's scholarship recipients.

    “We thank the individuals, law firms, and corporations that continue to support our mission with their contributions to the WLAM Foundation Law Student scholarships,” she said in a press release. “Each of our 13 worthy recipients is dedicated to excellence in the classroom and committed to championing social causes. We look forward with pride to their impact on the profession.”

    The WLAMF has awarded almost $825,000 to more than 307 law students since 1997. The foundation’s primary mission is to support the education of women who show leadership in advancing the position of women in society and is realized each year through scholarship awards to outstanding women law students attending Michigan law schools.
