Watch Jelly Roll Premiere Rousing Single ‘Burning’ on ‘Kimmel’

Jelly Roll stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live to perform his new song “Burning,” appearing on the late-night show’s outdoor stage alongside his band and back-up singers. Guest host Martin Short announced the musician, who offered an upbeat performance of the previously-unheard track — complete with fire.

The musician then sat down with Short to discuss writing songs while in prison and his other recent single, “I Am Not Okay.” Jelly Roll also took the opportunity to tease his next album, which will be out this fall (“Jelly Roll’s music favors the fall,” he hinted), and to announce that he’s added 16 dates to his forthcoming arena tour .

He confirmed that the tour will include Canada, a big moment for the musician as he’s recently admitted to having some challenges touring outside the U.S. due to his criminal record.

“It took American 38 years to let me leave and now I got to convince other countries to let me come,” he told Short, before asking a few “Canada questions” about the language and what they call Canadian bacon there.

Jelly Roll dropped “I Am Not Okay” earlier this month, marking the musician’s first solo offering since his hit 2023 album, Whitsitt Chapel . It is also the first official song off Jelly Roll’s next album. The musician debuted the track last month on the season finale of The Voice . A week before that, at the 2024 ACM Awards, he premiered another still-unreleased tune, “Liar,” which is also expected to appear on the upcoming LP.

Jelly Roll’s tour kicks off Aug. 27 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Over the past few months, he’s played a handful of festivals and made some very special guest appearances as well: During his Stagecoach set , he tapped T-Pain for a cover of Toby Keith’s “Should’ve Been a Cowboy”; at Welcome to Rockville, he linked up with Limp Bizkit for their cover of the Who’s “Behind Blue Eyes”; at Hangout, he sang “Sweet Home Alabama” with Lana Del Rey; in Dallas, he sang “Cowboy” with Kid Rock (in a Cybertruck no less); and, most recently, in Detroit, he joined Eminem for an updated version of “Sing for the Moment.”
