Brevard County got an idea of Maryl Harris’ brilliance when she was named a FLORIDA TODAY Top Scholar in 2016.

Now the world will get a peek at the Eau Gallie grad’s intelligence.

Harris, 25, will be a contestant on the popular game show “Jeopardy!” on Wednesday. How she does on the show? Well, you’ll have to watch and find out for yourself.

The operations manager for Spark Therapeutics who now lives in Philadelphia isn’t allowed to give any details about her “Jeopardy!” appearance.

How to watch Eau Gallie grad Maryl Harris on “Jeopardy!”

Harris’ episode will air in Brevard County on Wednesday at 7 p.m. on WFTV.

Whether she’ll be on more episodes remains to be seen. If she beats her two opponents on Wednesday’s show, she’ll advance to the next show and continue on until she loses.

Maryl Harris was a FLORIDA TODAY Top Grad in 2016

Every year, one student from each Brevard County school is selected to represent the school’s senior class as its "Top Scholar," as part of a FLORIDA TODAY effort to highlight academic achievers.

In 2016, Harris was that student for Eau Gallie High School. She graduated with a 4.4 weighted GPA and was named a National Merit Scholar.

After high school Harris went into Arizona State University.

Is Maryl Harris the first from Brevard to be on “Jeopardy!”?

    No, she is not.

Back in January 1988 Gregg Wiggins, of Indian Harbour Beach, appeared on the show. He went on to win twice and take home $28,500 in prizes.

Former FLORIDA TODAY journalist Pam Platt appeared on “Jeopardy!” in 2016. She won one game and took home $27,600.
