Wednesday's Weather Headline: The heat and atrocious humidity continue this week with indices still between 105-110 for many... Read on for more details.
What we're tracking: High pressure returning overhead and remaining in place will bring on the heat going into this weekend and next week. Even more southerly winds out of the Gulf combined with a massive influx of tropical moisture from the last two tropical disturbances will keep our dew points in the mid to upper 70s during the daytime, which will bring heat indices in the Crossroads ranging between 101-110. In Victoria county, heat indices reached 109 and 110 the last two days. Heat advisories are in effect as this is expected to continue again today. With high pressure persisting into next week, western Crossroads counties may reach the 100s again next week.
Next 24 hours: Hot and humid weather commences today and tomorrow under partly cloudy to mostly sunny skies. Very high UV index with long peeks of beaming sunshine will bring highs in the Crossroads between the low-upper 90s with heat indices up to 110 potentially even up to 112... Rain chances today and tomorrow stand at 20% for the potential of a couple spotty showers especially along the immediate coast, although one or two showers could move a little more inland. At most, rainfall totals may reach half an inch if any heavier showers form.
Extended forecast: The heat and humidity drag on all week into next week, perhaps drying a tiny bit next week which would be nice. Highs stick in the 90s with some possibly hitting the 100s out west beginning next week. Daily rain chances remain light. See below for your hot and steamy 7 day Crossroads forecast!
