Netflix has officially enlisted Golden Globe nominee Greta Lee (Past Lives) to join Kathryn Bigelow’s untitled Netflix movie.

This marks Lee’s latest project with the streamer after previously starring in the Russian Doll series. In addition to the untitled White House thriller, Lee is also currently attached to star in Disney’s upcoming Tron: Ares movie with Jared Leto and in Louis Leterrier’s horror sci-fi movie 11817 with Oscar winner Kingsley Ben-Adir.

Who’s the cast of Kathryn Bigelow’s Untitled Netflix Movie?

Kathryn Bigelow’s untitled Netflix movie will be led by Idris Elba (The Wire, Pacific Rim) and Rebecca Ferguson (Dune: Part Two), who have signed on for leading roles. Prior to Lee’s casting, Chernobyl’s Jared Harris and The Night Agent’s Gabriel Basso have also been tapped for the project. Further details about their characters remained under wraps.

This will serve as the acclaimed filmmaker’s feature directorial comeback. The project will reportedly have the same tone as 2012’s Zero Dark Thirty. According to its brief synopsis, the fill will revolve around “a group of White House officials scrambling to deal with an incoming missile attack on the U.S.” Further details about the current cast members’ characters are still under wraps.

The upcoming White House thriller wasn’t actully going to be Bigelow’s director comeback project, as the Oscar-winning filmmaker was originally attached to helm the film adaptation of Aurora based on blockbuster scribe David Keopp’s survival thriller novel, which was first announced back in 2022. The movie would have centered around characters who are coping with the collapse of the social order, set against a catastrophic worldwide power crisis.
