FKA Twigs says she underwent a “psychotherapy exam” in her assault case with Shia LeBeouf and claims his requests for her full medical records as well as financial history goes too far.
In court documents exclusively revealed by The U.S. Sun, FKA says she acquiesced to a number of Shia ‘s requests in the discovery process ahead of their scheduled trial later this year.

“Defendant as part of the discovery process, including but not limited to, (1) submitting to a psychotherapy exam,” her legal team wrote in the newly filed papers.
In her latest filing, FKA calls Shia’s requests for discovery a “fishing expedition.”
“Defendant seeks the entirety of Plaintiff’s medical history, going well beyond the injuries that are actually at issue.”
“Plaintiff has already agreed to provide documents that relate to any damages or injuries that she is alleging occurred because of Defendant, therefore it is unclear how the remainder of documents are relevant, and not privileged.”
FKA also hits out at Shia’s team’s requests regarding her finances going all the way back to 2017.
“There is a significant invasion into [FKA’s] privacy in asking for all of her financial information from 2017 through the present. “
“[Shia] contends it seeks the information based on a far-fetched theory that [FKA’s] level of income is correlated to her emotional distress. Specifically, [Shia] argues that if [FKA] is working and making income, then she does not suffer from emotional distress. This is simply not true.”
FKA’s team went on: “A person’s ability to make money, particularly how much money, is not correlated to a person’s emotional distress damages.
“If Defendant would like to know whether Plaintiff is or is not working, and the extent of work, then Plaintiff can provide this information without revealing her finances.”
In a filing by Shia’s legal team, they claim FKA is seeking $10 million in damages.
“She alleges, incredibly, that she has suffered $10 million in damages, including lost wages, lost professional opportunities and emotional distress.
“In particular, Plaintiff alleges that the release of her album was delayed due to mental anguish, and as a result she lost over $1 million not finishing her album prior to touring,” Shia’s legal team hit out.
FKA has previously stated that she intends to donate a significant portion of any monetary damages to domestic-violence charities.
FKA’S CLAIMS
The singer claimed that Shia slammed her against a car and attempted to strangle her.
FKA also alleged that he was wildly jealous and would set a specific amount of kisses she would need to give him in a day and would berate her if she fell short.
In a 2020 statement to the New York Times , Shia said, “I’m not in any position to tell anyone how my behavior made them feel.
“I have no excuses for my alcoholism or aggression, only rationalizations.
“I have been abusive to myself and everyone around me for years. I have a history of hurting the people closest to me.
“I’m ashamed of that history and am sorry to those I hurt. There is nothing else I can really say.”
