There’s a lot to see this weekend from the BMW Group at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. On the BMW side, the M5 G90 super sedan shares the spotlight with the X3 M50 crossover and the M135 hot hatch. At the MINI booth, the next-gen John Cooper Works hot hatch is joined by a first-ever JCW EV. Rolls-Royce is also attending the four-day event with several bespoke vehicles.

BMWBLOG had the opportunity to ride shotgun in the new M5 this weekend at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. We were in great company as behind the wheel was G90 product manager Daniela Schmid, a Nürburgring 24 Hour class winner. As for the car, it’s a Carbon Black example with the standard sunroof and optional Kyalami Orange seats.

We’ve already seen the new BMW M5 tackle the Goodwood hill climb but there was a separate run with the mayor of M Town himself. Frank van Meel got behind the wheel of the super sedan for what is essentially a promo video to hype up the G90. This Carbon Black example had the standard sunroof we recently spotted in the configurator. All the other cars we’ve seen so far had the optional carbon fiber roof.

A 53-year-old man from Douglas was recently arrested after local drug detectives executed a search warrant at an apartment in the Crown Villas complex. According to a preliminary report from the Coffee County Drug Unit, detectives conducted the search on June 27 based on prior cocaine purchases made at the location. Upon entry, detectives found Alyn Franklyn, identified as a black male, in the master bedroom. During the search, one detective discovered a small brown plastic bag/wrapper containing suspected crack cocaine on top of the microwave in the kitchen.
