IFC Films has dropped the first Skincare trailer for its forthcoming thriller drama, starring Emmy nominee Elizabeth Banks . The film is slated to arrive in theaters on August 16.
The Skincare trailer features Banks as a popular Skincare queen guru, who suddenly becomes a victim of hacking and sabotage by a unknown person trying to destroy her reputation and business. The video also provides a preview of what to expect from Nathan Fillion and Lewis Pullman’s characters.
“A fictional story inspired by true events, Skincare follows famed aesthetician Hope Goldman (Banks) who is about to take her career to the next level by launching her very own skincare line, but complications arise when rival facialist Angel Vergara (Méndez) opens a new skincare boutique directly across from her studio,” reads the synopsis. “She begins to suspect that someone is trying to sabotage her reputation and business, and together with her friend Jordan (Pullman) she embarks on a mission to unravel the mystery of who is trying to destroy her life.”
The film is directed by Austin Peters from a screenplay he co-wrote with Deering Regan and Sam Freilich, who are both executive producing. Joining Banks are Lewis Pullman (Top Gun: Maverick), Luis Gerardo Méndez (Charlie’s Angels), Nathan Fillion (Rookie, The Suicide Squad), and Michaela Jaé Rodriguez (Pose).
