Ina Garten Is Officially Working On a New Cookbook. Here’s What We Know

Hot on the heels of an upcoming memoir , the Barefoot Contessa just revealed some big news for Ina-heads, and it was so subtle you might’ve missed it.

Ina Garten is officially working on a new cookbook, which will bring her list of titles to a whopping 14. She quietly shared the news in the caption of a recent Instagram post.

“ @micabahn and I are testing Tropical Piña Coladas for the next cookbook—we’ll be taking the rest of the afternoon off!!”

So Garten and her assistant, Mica Bahn, are developing a recipe for piña coladas—does this give any hints as to the theme of the cookbook? Likely not, considering most Barefoot Contessa cookbooks include a range of cocktails (including that infamously big cosmo ). It’s more probable that Ina just happens to like the coconut-pineapple drink. Can you blame her?

The image shows a frosty yellow beverage topped with fresh pineapple and toasted coconut flakes. Bahn commented on the post, “And they call this work??”

There are no official details to share about the cookbook yet, but it’s pretty safe to assume that it won’t publish until at least next year, since Ina’s memoir, Be Ready When the Luck Happens , is coming out on October 1, 2024. Her cookbooks typically follow a two-year release schedule and the last one, Go-To Dinners , was published in the fall of 2022. But with the memoir taking this year’s slot, it’s more likely that the TBD cookbook will come out in fall 2026.

The waiting is the hardest part.
