JT Says She Was “Hurt” By Online Feud With Fellow City Girls Rapper Yung Miami

Two months after a fiery online exchange with City Girls bandmate Yung Miami, JT has finally spoken out on the whole debacle. The proclaimed solo rapper joined Keke Palmer on her Baby This Is Keke Palmer podcast to discuss the April 2024 back-and-forth that took place on Twitter.

During the sit-down, the “No Bars” rhymer was asked about the moment she and Miami began tussling online, and if it “gagged” her to be feuding with her “homegirl.” Unfazed, JT admitted that she knew their issues would “end up somewhere,” but she was “more so hurt” that it happened at all.

“When you get to the point of ego… it gets there. You forget to express yourself in a private setting, or you forget to talk like adults,” she explained. “It’s both of us getting an attitude like ‘who the f**k you think you are?’ And it’s just like– it happened. It was stupid and it’s done. It’s over with and now it’s funny to both of us, now it’s hilarious.”

JT also expressed that Yung Miami should be able to tell her side, as well, because they both were “dead a** wrong. It wasn’t no right person in that situation, and I feel like that’s just something that we should talk about as adults.” However, she assured Palmer that their friendship is still intact.

The pair went back-and-forth following group breakup speculation and their t hird studio album, RAW ‘s, lackluster rollout. At the time, fans began to point out how the duo seemed disconnected, especially during their Breakfast Club interview in October 2023 where the two spoke on separate plans for their careers.

Miami also spoke with Complex earlier this month, where she explained, “The whole r ollout for the album was bad because we was just in two different spaces. We older now and [JT] was doing her own thing. She on the West Coast, I’m in Miami. I’m doing my own thing. And I felt like naturally, when she doing her own thing, it just worked for her. And when I’m doing my own thing, it worked for me.”

She added, “But when we get together as a group, it just wasn’t connecting. It just wasn’t working no more. So I think we both was at a point where we were just like, ‘We probably should just do our own s**t.’”

As everything came to a head, the pair’s issues exploded on X when Miami spoke on someone “sneak dissing” her in their songs.

“A bi**h been sneak dissing me for weeks and I ain’t say sh*t what a bi**h mad at me fa?????!!!!!!” she began. “I ain’t jealous of a soul I’m always like go bi**h go!!! I clap for everybody I show love to EVERYBODY it ain’t a bi**h I haven’t shown love to!!!!!!”

She went on, “For you to come on here & try to play victim is crazy! Jatavia you been sneak dissing me for the LAST COUPLE OF DAYS!!! I haven’t said sht back to you!! You made 2 whole songs DISSING ME & I STILL RAPPED your sh*t with my chest & showed love. so what’s the real problem here??? A bi**h trying to kick me while I’m down and play into these narratives! Is dangerous when I been nothing but a friend to you!!!!!”

In response, JT accused Miami of “playing dumb” and added, “It’ll be too much for me to tweet! I will like a sit down…. Caresha please! And this time leave Santana home. I know I come off crazy but never in my life did no wack sh*t to this girl she literally enjoys seeing me being dragged when ppl show me love she goes crazy & call it a hate train! But like I said we can sit & talk about it!”

When asked what songs Miami felt were direct shots at her, she named “No Bars” and “Sideways,” leaving JT laughing.

“Girl, the internet told you that, which songs was about you the one saying “it’s city girl sh*t even when it ain’t city girl sh*t” that was released under city girls, or the one that say riding solo but I’m still in a group?” she responded. “Get your phone back from whoever this is baby don’t play with me!”
