    Rachel Bilson and 21Seeds Tequila Serve Up 2000s Nostalgia With Campaign That Pays Homage to ‘The O.C.’

    Rachel Bilson and 21 Seeds Tequila are launching a new campaign inspired by the hit 2000s show, "The O.C," the spirits brand announced Wednesday. For the campaign, Bilson reprises her role as Summer Roberts while she makes cocktails with the brand's flavored tequilas.
    "When 21SEEDS called to ask me to step back into my role as Summer, it was an easy yes, especially when I heard Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage were involved," Bilson said in the news release. "I always say I would do anything with them at the drop of a dime! Bringing back Summer has been fun, and I really enjoyed the campaign because I was already a fan of 21SEEDS. I may not be a professional mixologist, but 21SEEDS infused tequilas make it much easier to craft my favorite cocktails at home."
    The campaign was licensed by Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products and done in conjunction with the star, tequila brand and the production company Fake Empire. Fake Empire was founded by Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, and the company is responsible for hit shows like "Gossip Girl," "Heart of Dixie" and "Chuck." Schwartz and Savage met on "The O.C.," and the hit show turned cultural phenomenon turns 21 this year. Bilson's character was initially meant to be a supporting role, but Schwartz decided to expand the part to that of a Series Regular.
    "Sumer Roberts is the total embodiment of a true 21SEEDS fan - she's never too serious, brings everyone together, and is always down for a good time," 21Seeds Business Director Adrienne Cushieri said in a statement. "I can't wait to see how the campaign inspires our customers to connect over their favorite easy-to-make 21SEEDS cocktails and scenes from The O.C."
    The 21Seeds Campaign will launch July 1 on digital platforms including Hulu, Max, and Peacock. More information will be featured on the brand's Instagram profile. The campaign consists of three spots " The Spicy Delivery ," " The VOC" and " The Paloma Party. " 21Seeds is an infused tequila brand that was founded in 2019 by female entrepreneurs Kat Hantas and Nichol Hantas-Emanuel and Sarika Singh. Kat Hantas shared she began experimenting with making tequila infusions and bringing them to parties. It turned out Hantas' infusions were quite popular. 21SEEDS core portfolio includes three flavors: Valencia Orange,
