This free weekend will allow people to dip their toes into the fishing world and discover if this is a hobby they’d like to pursue. Those who would like to participate but don’t have a fishing rod are in luck.

The Department of Environmental Conservation has partnered with libraries across the state for a fishing rod lending program. There will be participating libraries in Albany, Columbia, Essex, Fulton, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Schoharie, Ulster, and Washington Counties.
