Saline County extending hours for tag renewals

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – The Saline County Treasurer’s Office announced on Wednesday that they will be extending the operating hours at the City-County Building for tag renewals.

The hours will be from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesday through Friday, starting July 1.

Recently, the South Tag Office had to close due to “financial constraints,” according to Saline County Treasurer Jim DuBois. The office says it operates as an agent for the Kansas Department of Revenue and relies solely on income from renewals and title fees, which have not been increased in 17 years.

The Saline County Treasurer’s Office encourages residents to avoid lines by mailing in their renewal forms, using the No Wait Inside online scheduler, or the online system for tag renewals and payments with no additional fees.
