When it comes to space versus organization, your garage is probably heavily leaning to one side versus the other. Most garages tend to be bigger spaces that are hard to get organized, especially if you store tools or equipment out there. Luckily, there may be a fairly simple way to deal with all of that (and make it look nice to boot!) TikTok creator Jessica Haizman shares how she used the IKEA Ivar cabinet system to completely redo her garage and how it actually looks functional and organized now!
Jessica's garage , in its before state, looks like how many of ours doâcluttered and packed full of all sorts of stuff. It would be hard to even know where to start, much less what all you are looking at. This relatable mess is where the IKEA Ivar system comes into play.
What Are The Benefits of the IKEA Ivar System?
Though a more 'basic' shelving unit, even when it comes to IKEA, the Ivar's simplicity is what lends itself well to being used for organization in the garage. It has open sides and a simple frame, not to mention the shelves can be adjusted depending on how much space you need. This versatility makes it an ideal candidate for tackling even the most chaotic garages.
Once she has several of the Ivar frames set up, Jessica grabs a ton of the Rykta plastic bins , which fit seamlessly into the Ivar. These bins are a game-changer. They come in several different sizes, so whether you need taller bins for larger items or shorter, longer ones for tools and smaller equipment, there is a Rykta for that. The customization options are nearly endless, and the cohesive look of these bins helps make the entire setup look intentional and tidy, rather than a hodgepodge of mismatched storage solutions.
All that is left is to go ahead and lay out all the Rykta bins and fill them up with everything in your garage. From tools to biking helmets and everything in between, you should finally have space (and somewhere to put all those bins!) This not only makes your garage look aesthetically pleasing but also makes it far more functional.
Youâll save time not having to dig through piles of stuff to find what you need, and you might even find yourself enjoying the process of keeping everything organized. Jessicaâs transformation shows us that even the biggest organizational tasks can be tackled with the right tools and a bit of creativity. If she can turn her garage from cluttered to streamlined, so can you!
