Real Housewives star Kelly Bensimon calls off wedding just days before walking down the aisle

Just four days before she was due to tie the knot with her fiance Scott Litner , Kelly Bensimon has made the shocking decision to call off the wedding .

Kelly gained fame as a main cast on the Real Housewives of New York from seasons two to four and has made appearances as a guest in seasons six and seven. The 56-year-old got engaged to Scott during a romantic Fourth of July trip to Lake Geneva in Wisconsin last year.

Nearly a year later, they were supposed to say their vows on June 29. After returning from a mini-bachelorette getaway at Sandals Dunn's River in Jamaica with her daughters, all seemed well for the festivities.

The couple had planned for not just one but two ceremonies: a private affair in Boston for close family and friends in her mom's backyard and a grander celebration in the Hamptons.

However, it seems like the TV personality's trip down the aisle is now postponed indefinitely. "I have decided that my two daughters are my priority and I won't be moving forward with this wedding", she announced in a statement given to Page Six.

According to an insider spill, the very day she called off the wedding, Kelly was due to collect her triple wedding dresses from Kleinfeld's - a renowned bridal store and backdrop for the famed Say Yes To The Dress show.

Kelly has two daughters, Sea, 26, and Teddy, 24, with her former spouse Gilles Bensimon. The pair, Kelly a reality star and Gilles a famed photographer, were hitched from 1997 until their split in 2006.

Scott has been down the aisle twice before and has children from previous relationships as well. In her announcement, Kelly called for privacy and left fans guessing about her current status with Scott.

Flashback to last year, and Kelly was all praises for her then-fiancee while chatting with People magazine. She spilled, "When I first met him, I didn't even say anything. I was speechless - which is not like me, I always have something to say. He blew me away. He's just a really special human."
