Mia Goth Comments on Her Role in Marvel’s Blade

Marvel seems to be struggling getting Blade made, but Mia Goth has offered her own take on what’s going on.

Speaking to Deadline on the red carpet for her new A24 film Maxxxine , she says about Blade , “They really care. They want to make a great movie. That’s the sense I get from them.”

Goth is set to play Lilith in Marvel’s vampire movie. In the comics she’s the daughter of Dracula and a powerful vampire in her own right, but she’s also been portrayed as an ancient demon goddess and sorceress.

As Goth outlined, Marvel wants to get Blade right. That said, the movie is still languishing in pre-production, with no shooting date given yet.

With Mahershala Ali announced as Blade back in 2019, the film was originally meant to release late 2021. However, numerous script rewrites and changes in director have resulted in lengthy delays.

Now Blade is expected to release November 7, 2025, but as we’ve seen before, nothing with this film is set in stone. Previously, another Blade star broke their silence on the film .
