    A strong thunderstorm was detected by Doppler radar at 2:51 PM CDT near Troy, close to Trace State Park, moving eastward at a speed of 20 mph. The storm may bring wind gusts of up to 40 mph and hail up to half an inch in diameter. The radar has indicated these conditions, which could lead to downed tree limbs and the scattering of unsecured items. Minor damage to plants from hail is also a possibility. Areas that might be affected include Tupelo, Pontotoc, Verona, and several nearby parks and communities.
