ELK COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — An Elk County infrastructure project will be receiving financial support from the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development.

“These projects are critical investments which need to be made in our local communities,” Armanini said. “I appreciate Horton Township officials for bringing the problem to my attention, and Gov. Josh Shapiro and his administration for listening when I went to bat for the residents of Brockport.”

The county’s Horton Township Whetstone Waterline Project is being awarded a more than $2 million Community Development Block Grant.

The money will be used by the Brockway Borough Municipal Authority to build a new water main loop on Keystone Road and a portion of Coder Road in the borough.

“This is a simple matter of updating outdated infrastructure, which will not only improve water quality but allow three new fire hydrants to be installed,” Armanini said.
