    NWS issues severe thunderstorm watch, warning for parts of NEPA

    EYEWITNESS NEWS (WBRE/WYOU) — The National Weather Service (NWS) issued a severe thunderstorm watch and warning for multiple areas in NEPA

    On Wednesday at 6:25 p.m., the NWS announced a severe thunderstorm watch will be in effect for Bradford, Lackawanna, Luzerne, Pike, Susquehanna, Wyoming, and Wayne Counties until 9:00 p.m.

    At the same time, a severe thunderstorm warning was issued for Lackawanna, Luzerne, and Wyoming Counties and will be in effect until 7:15 p.m., according to the NWS.

    This comes after the NWS says a severe thunderstorm was located over Huntington Mills moving northeast at 45 miles per hour.

    According to the NWS, hail, and wind damage are also expected for the impacted areas.

    The NWS is advising residents in areas where there is a severe thunderstorm warning to move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building.
