    Thousands were without power in Mahoning County

    MAHONING CO., (WKBN) – Many people were without power in Mahoning County Wednesday night.

    As of 10:30 p.m., 6,289 residents had lost power in Mahoning County according to FirstEnergy’s website, but by midnight only 243 residents were still without power.

    Most of the outages were located in Boardman Township where FirstEnergy initially reported 4,940 outages. Canfield reported 1,287 outages, while Youngstown only reported 62.

    By midnight power was restored in Canfield but Boardman still had 185 outages and Youngstown had 57.

    FirstEnergy did not state the cause of the outages.
