Biographer Says Trump Felt ‘Wounded’ by Losing Kim Kardashian’s Support – Ex-President Claimed, ‘She Only Did That to Be Cool in Hollywood’

Donald Trump felt betrayed by Kim Kardashian after the former president worked to achieve prison reform with the celebrity, according to the author of a new biography.

At Kardashian’s urging, Trump signed the First Step Act in 2018, which cut down overly long federal sentences. It also sought to improve conditions in federal penitentiaries. Additionally, Trump granted clemency to a handful of women who were serving long federal prison terms. Kardashian had highlighted their plights and praised Trump at the time.

However, Kardashian hailed President Joe Biden’s election victory over Trump in 2020.

That stuck with Trump, as newly-obtained audio played on CNN’s OutFront on Wednesday demonstrated.

“He had invited her to the White House in 2020,” host Erin Burnett told viewers while interviewing Ramin Setoodeh, who provided the audio that he used for his new book Apprentice in Wonderland. “And you also spoke about her with him. Here’s part of what he told you”:

I was disappointed in Kim… With Kim, I did a lot of prison reform that she couldn’t get done with anybody else well… I let people out of prison that I thought were deserving to be let out. And then after it was all over, she announced that she’s not supporting me. And she only did that to be cool in Hollywood.

“So, Ramin, in that conversation how do you think he really felt?” Burnett asked the author. “I mean, he could have been much nastier about her, obviously. But he took a hit there. Do you think he genuinely feels she betrayed him?”

“Absolutely,” Setoodeh replied without hesitating. “I think he feels wounded that he invited Kim Kardashian to the White House, and then she went on social media after Joe Biden was declared the winner in 2020 and posted three heart emojis on her social media to support the Biden-Harris administration. He was fixated on that in the early days after he left the White House.”

Elsewhere in her interview with Setoodeh, Burnett played audio of Trump calling Taylor Swift “beautiful” five times in short order.
