    Where to celebrate July Fourth in Cleveland County

    Making plans for Independence Day?

    Look no further than Cleveland County. Here are places to celebrate the Fourth of July:

    Casar

    The celebration will take place at Casar Park, 137 Deviney St., Casar, on Thursday, July 4.

    Here's the schedule:

    5 p.m. Opening ceremony at the stage

    5:30 – 8 p.m. Variety of games, bounce house, activities, half and half drawing

    Fireworks extravaganza at dark

    No alcohol is permitted.

    Kings Mountain

    From 6-10 p.m. July 4, Kings Mountain will host its July Fourth celebration at Deal Park Walking Track 211 N. Cleveland Ave.

    The event will include a re-enactment of the final moments of the Battle of Kings Mountain, a parade around the walking track hosted by The Loch Norman Pipe Band, children’s activities, food vendors, and fireworks.

    The annual Lattimore Fourth of July celebration will begin on Thursday, July 4, at 9 a.m. on Main Street.

    The parade will feature floats, tractors, horses, antique cars, go carts and more. At the conclusion of the parade, a patriotic program and entertainment will be featured at the Lattimore Baptist Church Recreation Park. Concessions and lunch will be sold by the Lattimore Baptist Youth Department to raise funds for youth projects. There will be live music.

    Shelby

    The city of Shelby will host an Independence Day celebration on Wednesday, July 3, at City Park, 850 W. Sumter St., Shelby.

    Food trucks will set up in later afternoon.

    Superman, Spiderman and Captain America will be on the scene, and children will be able to get their faces painted as well as visit the bubble lady and a balloon artist.

    There will be a patriotic costume contest at 8:30 p.m.

    There will be a cornhole tournament at 5:30 p.m. in the gym, and the aquatic center will be open from 1 to 6 p.m.

    Fireworks will begin at 9:30 p.m.
