Summer 2024 is well underway, and proverbial school bells have once again ceased their ringing for a while. Tassels have moved on graduation caps at high schools in the Wallenpaupack, Wayne Highlands and Western Wayne school districts and two private schools in Wayne County.

Of the three public school districts, Western Wayne held commencement first, on June 6 at the high school in Varden (Lake Ariel). Their commencement program lists 124 members of the class of 2024. This was the 51st graduation at the high school since the district was formed. Matthew Barrett is superintendent, and Paul Gregorski II is principal.

Wayne Highlands held graduation the next evening, June 7, on the Honesdale High School stage, the 149th graduation for this school. Their program lists 145 members of the Class of 2024.
