    Wrestling World Pays Tribute to Sika

    WWE Hall of Famer Sika Anoa'i, passed away at the age of 79 on Tuesday, June 25.

    Anoa’i was active in professional wrestling from 1973 to 1991, and was one-half of the tag team The Wild Samoans with his brother Afa. The three time WWF World Tag Team Champions were inducted into the Hall of Fame by WWE in 2007.

    Part of the Samoan Anoa’i wrestling family, Sika (real name Pola’ivao Leati Sika Anoa’i), was the father of Rosey and Roman Reigns. The news of his passing was confirmed by nephew Jahrus Anoa’i through an Instagram post.

    The wrestling world from all over paid tributes to the legendary wrestler at his passing. Former WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns acknowledged the support in a post on X (formerly known as Twitter):

    On Tuesday, the announcement of Sika’s death by his nephew Jahrus read the following:

    "It is with profound sadness that I share the news of the passing of Former Hall of Famer, Polaivao Leati Sika Anoa’i. He passed away peacefully on June 25th. Sika was a celebrated figure whose contributions and legacy have left an indelible mark. His memory will live on through his achievements and the many lives he touched."

    "He was many things: a hard working father, a caring brother, a supportive uncle, and a proud grandfather. He was a cherished friend to many, a loving family member whose warmth and kindness knew no bounds, and an inspiration to countless individuals. His legacy will continue to inspire and uplift future generations, reminding us of the impact one person’s life can have on so many. Rest in love Uncle Sika."
