Connor McDavid's fiancée, Lauren Kyle, couldn't help but feel mixed emotions about the Edmonton Oilers' failed Stanley Cup Final comeback against the Florida Panthers.

While McDavid ended up winning the Conn Smythe Trophy--becoming just the sixth player to win the playoff MVP award despite being on the losing team--the Oilers couldn't get the job done in the end. Sure, Edmonton forced a Game 7 after being down 3-0, but it all went for naught as Florida won the do-or-die finale 2-1.

After the painful end to the Oilers' Stanley Cup playoffs run, McDavid's fiancée took to her Instagram Story to reflect on the postseason and share her thoughts about the loss.

Kyle admitted she's "heartbroken" for McDavid and the Oilers, but at the end of the day, she still feels proud for what they have accomplished as a group.

"As heartbroken [as] I am I feel so grateful to be in Edmonton with this group. Just need to say how proud I am of everything we accomplished this year, win or loss," McDavid's partner shared, via New York Post.

"Seeing so many fans travel across the continent to support our team was so incredible. We have the BEST fans in the league and no one deserves it more. We will bring it to Canada soon!!"

It's definitely a painful end for Connor McDavid and the Oilers, but as Lauren Kyle suggested, the team can still hold their heads high for everything they have done. Their incredible comeback from a 3-0 hole is noteworthy, making for an insane Stanley Cup Final that will be remembered for a long time.

Sure, it's quite frustrating as well that the Oilers weren't able to break the Canadian drought in the Stanley Cup. But there's no doubt McDavid and Edmotion positioned themselves to be title contenders for years to come.
