“Thank you for this honor. From the bottom of my heart, I appreciate the commission and the people of Sevier County,” Larry Waters, Sevier County mayor, stated in a news release on Thursday. “I will continue to serve to the best of my ability, which I have always done.”

Sevier County officials said on Thursday that the Sevier County Mayor’s Office and the Sevier County Intergovernmental Affairs Committee will determine the appropriate design and placement of name indications on the buildings.

“This is the greatest honor of my life. I’m a humble man, I never expected this. I’m eternally grateful and will never forget this honor,” Judge Rex Henry Ogle said.

Andrew Holt, son of the late Connie Holt , shared in a statement: “It’s a very nice surprise, humbling not just for me but for my family. I know my mom would be in tears and struggling for words. She put her heart into this place for decades and I know that she would be very proud. It’s an incredible honor.”

Dedication ceremony dates as well as the corresponding resolutions will later be announced.
