Corey Feldman has returned with his new single, “The Joke,” which arrives with a music video directed by Limp Bizkit’s Fred Durst.

Musically, “The Joke” is a hard rock song carried by a growling guitar riff, built around the lyrical refrain: “The joke/ The joke/ The joke is on you.” On the verses, Feldman snarls out lines aimed at his naysayers, like “Everybody talkin’ shit/ Calling me an idiot/ Don’t know how I handle it,” but ultimately concludes with a message of self-confidence, assuring the haters that he’ll “go to No. 1.”

The music video features Feldman theatrically performing the song with a full band while decked out in ’80s windbreaker outfits. At one point, it enters a dream-like sequence in which he reveals a Goonies t-shirt underneath his windbreaker before channeling his late friend, Michael Jackson. Paying tribute to the King of Pop in a fedora and a sequined shirt, he does a nimble spin onto his toes.

After the performance is over, we get a behind-the-scenes look at Feldman telling Durst he’s not sure about dressing up as Jackson. In response, Durst says, “Brother, it’s not going in the video.” Clearly, there was a change of heart at some point. Watch the video for “The Joke” below.

“‘The Joke’ is more than just a song — it’s a statement,” Feldman told Billboard about the track. “For years, I’ve faced criticism from those who want to undermine my dedication to music. This single is my way of reclaiming the narrative and showing that my commitment to my art is unshakeable.”

Meanwhile, Feldman and Durst are joining forces again next month for the “Loserville” tour, kicking off on Feldman’s birthday, July 16th, in Wisconsin. From there, they’ll stop in Toronto, Houston, Phoenix, and more cities before wrapping on August 24th in San Bernardino, California. Grab tickets here.

Be sure to revisit our 2022 interview with Feldman, as well as his appearance on Kyle Meredith With… discussing his music, unreleased songs from films such as The Lost Boys and Dream A Little Dream , and more.
