Gabrielle Union Shows Some Love for Stepdaughter Zaya Wade’s New Poised & Preppy Aesthetic

Zaya Wade is constantly stunning fans with her strength, her grace, and the way she can rock any damn style she pleases. (Pardon my French.) But speaking of French! It’s seriously enviable how seamlessly she can go from modeling high fashion on the runway of Paris Fashion Week to owning streetwear (and anything in between) without a hair out of place.

The 17-year-old just shared a new photo on Instagram that shows this West Coast girl can also take a page from an East Coast playbook. The model looks perfectly poised and preppy in light-wash jeans, brown loafers, a white turtleneck sweater with black stripes around the arms, and a structured black vest. Her hair gently curls up at her shoulder, and her makeup is simple perfection.

“❣️❣️❣️,” Zaya captioned her photo . The comments are restricted (probably because transphobic trolls are bigoted a—holes), but her stepmom Gabrielle Union was quick to jump in there.

“❤️❤️❤️❤️,” she commented, throwing in some extra love for the daughter her husband Dwyane Wade shares with ex Siohvaughn Funches along with sons Zaire and Xavier. Union and Wade also share 5-year-old daughter Kaavia James (AKA Shady Baby ).

We’re not surprised to see this simple yet powerful show of support from Union. Last month, the Bring It On star posted a Mother’s Day tribute not just for Kaavia, but for her stepkids too. “There’s no greater hood than motherhood if you ask me!” she captioned a carousel of photos with all four kids, plus Wade’s nephew, who he has custody of.

“Having the privilege to play a part in these young lives that surround me has humbled and enlightened me in ways words cannot explain,” she continued. “Sometimes I ask myself, ‘How did I get so lucky?’ Nonetheless, thank you for teaching me patience, kindness, and love. You’ve forever changed me for the better.”

How sweet is that? The most stunning photo of the bunch (in our humble opinion) was the one of Union and Zaya staring adoringly into each other’s eyes with huge smiles on their faces. The two are proof that it isn’t blood that creates the most powerful bonds.
