If you’re looking to stream an innovative new horror film, I have two recommendations: Late Night with the Devil and In a Violent Nature .

Colin and Cameron Cairnes’ Late Night with the Devil is an exceptional found footage flick that follows the harrowing events of a late-night talk show episode from Halloween night in 1977. The absorbing David Dastmalchian-led movie is now streaming on AMC+ and Shudder.

The second film that finds itself atop many “best horror movies of 2024” lists is Chris Nash’s In a Violent Nature . Described by Jesse Hassenger as the “unofficial Friday the 13th remake you’ve been waiting for, this Canadian slasher follows an undead monster in the remote wilderness who begins murdering a group of teens. Classic Voorhees stuff. This inventive movie follows the killer’s point of view and is so gory that it made a viewer vomit .

In a Violent Nature will be available to purchase on Amazon for $14.99 beginning Friday, June 28 at 12:00 a.m. ET (9:00 p.m. PT). You’ll also be able to buy the film on Vudu , iTunes, YouTube, and various digital platforms.

Yes. In a Violent Nature is distributed by IFC Films and Shudder, so the film will be available to stream on Shudder later this year.

An official Shudder release date has yet to be announced, but a similar movie, Late Night with the Devil , was added to the platform four weeks after its theatrical release. In a Violent Nature arrived in theaters on May 31, so we expect the movie to drop on Shudder in the near future, with our best guess being July.
