Inside Crazy Town frontman Shifty Shellshock's devastating final days before his death

    By Harry Rutter,

Shifty Shellshock died aged 49 on Monday.

The Crazy Town lead singer passed away at his residence on Monday, June 24, according to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's website. Now a neighbour has shed further light on the days and weeks leading up to the frontman's sudden death.

He was reportedly renting a small 60-square-foot apartment in LA's Koreatown, per RadarOnline.com. His neighbour Jason Roberts claims the hitmaker moved into the home one week before his death, further claiming he was fighting with his girlfriend.

"He said he was having problems with his girlfriend or whatever and that's why he was here," Roberts told MailOnline. "He said he had been fighting with her and the cops were going to that house." Jason continued on Wednesday: "He had to get away."

Giving further information about Shifty, born Seth Binzer, Jason said the singer's body was found by the building's property manager. He said Binzer was "gone and dead" when cops arrived. "I don't know how long he was in there like that," he told the outlet.

"I didn't hear anything coming from that room for a while because I would hear him fussing around there the other days. I had no idea what was going on until I came out of my room and there were three cops there," the next-door neighbour continued.

A cause of death has not yet been disclosed. A final post from Shifty from his Instagram on April 28, has caused alarm from his fans with the post being so cryptic. The post has a photo of someone wearing a black top and black ski mask as they look into the camera, surrounded by a sea of other people wearing white tops and white ski masks.

There are words written above that said: "Real is rare, fake is everywhere." The accompanying photo was captioned: "To the ones who stay even when I try my hardest to scare the [sic] away" with a black heart emoji at the end.

The post is currently limited but before there were comments from friends and fans. Many of the comments were tinged with concerns and well wishes for the artist. One user wrote: "Come see me when you get a chance." A second wrote: "I'm not going anywhere! Always here" Another said: "Long time no speak but I will always be here for you." Trap 'Daddy' Gambino recently said: "These posts… I really hope they open eyes."
