My fiance and I recently renovated a small travel trailer . We demoed, stripped it down to its bones, and built it back up to our liking. I was in charge of paint so of course I choose the most perfect shade of green to to use on the kitchen cabinets.

After the reno was done and we had been using that camp trailer for a couple of weeks nearly every single kitchen cabinet had scratches, marks, and painted chipped. It looked horrible and I spent so many hours painting it to perfection. Don’t make the same mistake I did, check out one paint professional's advice for painting cabinets that are scratch-proof. Check it out below!

When it comes to painting we have seen some pretty incredible hacks to make the job a lot easier, because let's face it… it's kinda the most dreaded task of any home renovation or DIY project. We have seen genius ways of getting lint off paint rollers , painting baseboards the foolproof way , and the secret weapon for painting window trim without spending hours of time masking the glass off .

But this simple trick for painting cabinets so they are scratch-resistant is brilliant, so long as you follow good prep work etiquette and use enamel paint!

The Struggles of Choosing a Paint Color

The starting process of painting always seems like a fun new project and it goes a little something like this. You get an idea of something that you want to paint, say our bathroom. Pinterest is open and suddenly you have a board with over 200 inspo picks. The car is in hot pursuit to the Home Depot paint section and you’ve narrowed it down to a forest green color, you pick out the perfect paint and collect your free stir stick a little can opening tool, and head home. After an hour of masking, you start to not be so into it but stay optimistic as you pour that fresh paint in the tray, you grab the roller and go to town, thinking you are having some fun. But an hour goes by and you are begging your significant other to finish the job you wanted to start.
