Coldwell Banker Preferred Properties donates to community

Coldwell Banker Preferred Properties, LLC is committed to “Giving More in 2024” and began a campaign to donate to local organizations as a way to give back to our community.

Spearheaded by Karen Everett, each month the real estate agents and staff collectively select an organization in need to donate items.

“Our hope with this campaign is to bring awareness each month to a local establishment, and in turn give our community a nudge to pitch in as well. Together we can make a difference!”

On Wednesday, June 26, the Coldwell Banker agents and staff donated toys and stuffed animals to the Tri-County Child Advocacy Center for distribution to the clients. The CAC (located next door to Coldwell Banker) offers a child-friendly environment to foster hope and facilitate healing for traumatized child victims of physical and sexual abuse, child-trafficking, neglect and exposure to drugs and violence. The CAC is funded through grants, fundraisers, and donations to cover operating expenses and service providers.

In the month of May, the CB agents participated in the “Bowling for Books” at Striker’s Bowling Center to support a fundraiser sponsored by the Richmond County Partnership for Children. Not only did the agents donate and have fun, but two of the Coldwell Banker teams won first and third place in the charity tournament. Richmond County Partnership for Children’s mission is to increase the quality of early childcare and education within the community. The fundraiser helped to raise funds for books and support activities for children and families, including the Dolly Parton Library and Circle of Parents programs.

In the month of April, the CB agents chose Richmond County Aging Services and donated a load of Ensure, Boost, and other energy drinks to be distributed to our senior residents. Aging Services offers so many opportunities for our aging population and provides a fun, safe environment to enjoy the company of others while staying active.

So many of our senior residents live on a fixed income and struggle to afford necessities. Aging Services gladly accepts donations, such as toilet paper, paper towels, cases of water, adult diapers/pull-ups, cleaning supplies, pet food and monetary donations. In March, Coldwell Banker agents dropped off bags to the Extended Care Unit at FirstHealth Richmond Memorial Hospital. The bags were filled with blankets, snacks, puzzle books, and general hygiene items to hopefully make their stay a little easier. These patients typically do not need the level of care necessary to remain in the hospital, but for a variety of reasons cannot be easily placed in a facility. Oftentimes this process can take an extended period of time. Richmond Memorial was able to open an area in the hospital for these individuals to stay until that process is complete, and in turn open beds for patients with more urgent needs.
