New Red Clay Strays coming soon. They're gearing up to release a new album called Made By These Moments on July 26th, and just announced on Instagram that "Drowning" is the next song to drop this Tuesday, July 2nd: "'Drowning' drops everywhere this Tuesday, July 2nd at 10am ET. Drew wrote this song in 2020 when we were struggling and didn’t know if we could make this thing work.
Looking back on it now it’s easy to say 'thank God we didn’t quit,' but it’s a lot harder to have that mindset in the middle of your struggle. So if yer out there drowning, keep pushing, and don’t quit. You’ll be glad you did one day." A great message, indeed. So far, they've put out two other songs from the 11-song tracklist in “Wanna Be Loved” and “Devil In My Ear,” but this might already be my favorite one yet. It once again focuses on the importance of mental health and how deeply those struggles can affect someone negatively, which seems to be a theme on this forthcoming album based on the other two songs we've heard with a similar message. The classic rock and roll-inspired track also highlights frontman Brandon Coleman’s unreal vocals, as he delivers portions of the lyrics with a deep growl and power and other lines with a silky smooth blues feel:
“I can’t tread much longer now I’m trying, to keep my head Above the water So, throw me a line Show me a sign That everything will be alright Cause I feel like I’m Drowning Somebody help me out” They don't miss... here's a little teaser of it: https://www.instagram.com/p/C8uQSkYu-nB/ And a little bit of "Drowning" from a recent live show:
